From Scars to STARs: Healing Trauma and the Healing Revolution of Equidelics
There comes a moment in every healing journey when the past stops controlling the narrative. The pain is not erased, but transformed. Wounds close into scars — no longer sites of suffering, but symbols of survival. This movement from trauma to integration lies at the heart of Scars to STARs Day 2025, a virtual gathering taking place on May 16.
This year’s event centers on the theme of resolved trauma. Not recovery in the sense of going back to what was, but the emergence of something new — stronger, deeper, and more compassionate. Trauma may leave its imprint, but it doesn’t have to define us. Through connection, innovation, and storytelling, Scars to STARs Day is a space for survivors to reclaim their narrative and reimagine their lives.
The Power of Integration
Resolved trauma is not about forgetting or minimizing the past. It’s about weaving it into a coherent whole, learning to carry what once threatened to break us. In community, and through trauma-informed support, this process becomes not only possible but deeply transformative.
This event offers that kind of space where wounds are witnessed, and healing is made visible. Where resilience is not just a concept, but a lived experience shared in real time.
A Lineup of Visionary Speakers
This year’s newly announced speakers include voices leading the charge in mental health, recovery, and human transformation:
- The Honorable Patrick J. Kennedy – Former U.S. Representative and national leader in mental health parity and reform. His work continues to break stigma and create systemic change.
- Richard Grannon – Specialist in emotional recovery, narcissistic abuse, and CPTSD education. He offers clear, empowering frameworks for reclaiming autonomy and self-worth.
- Dr. Jamie Huysman – Founder of STAR Network, a pioneer in caregiver burnout, trauma-informed care, and addiction recovery. He brings decades of insight into how individuals and systems heal.
Each speaker embodies the truth that resolved trauma is not only achievable, but also an essential step in reshaping how we live, relate, and lead.
Introducing Equidelics – Powered by STAR Network
A groundbreaking new addition to this year’s event is the official introduction of Equidelics — an innovative fusion of equine-assisted therapy and psychoactive healing. Powered by STAR Network, this revolutionary approach empowers survivors to move beyond traditional talk therapy by engaging both body and soul.
Through the intuitive, stabilizing presence of horses combined with advanced therapeutic protocols, Equidelics supports individuals in breaking through the emotional grip of trauma, depression, and anxiety. It facilitates regulation, connection, and restoration at a depth many conventional methods struggle to reach.
The visionaries behind Equidelics include:
- George M. Rapier III, M.D. – Founder and CEO of WellMed Medical Management, known for integrating compassion into large-scale health systems.
- Giselle Faubel, PsyD – Clinical psychologist and co-developer of Equidelics. Her work bridges neuroscience, trauma theory, and equine wisdom in service of profound transformation.
Equidelics represents a new frontier in mental health — one where ancient connection and modern science come together to restore what trauma has fragmented.

Hi, Dr. Faubel. Jackie here. I volunteered at Eques 10 years ago & had the honor of also visiting you last year at your new loving home after surviving Stage 4, Lymphoma. I spoke with you about how close I felt to God thru this difficult but peaceful journey. Can’t wait what to see what other events you will have in the future.
