Are you a writer who would like to showcase their work on the In The Rooms website? Would you also like to win an Amazon.com gift card worth $100US?

If you are, then you’re in luck. From now until January 15th 2021, In The Rooms is running a competition to encourage those in our recovery community to get writing. Perhaps you already write, but need that extra push to get your work out into the world? Either way, we want to hear from you.

Working with In The Rooms for the last seven years as a writer, and in the past, as editor at their sister site, I Love Recovery, has been an incredible experience. We have had hundreds of writers feature their blogs with us, some who had never written before. Earlier this year, all the content from I Love Recovery was transferred over to the main In The Rooms site. Since then, readership increased drastically.

Why writing is good for people in recovery.

Writing has been an incredible journey for me. What started with a few sentences in a journal every night, turned into dozens of articles and short stories published online and in books and magazines. It was the trigger for some very enjoyable and sometimes very hard conversations with other people. Writing also manifested travel and adventure and making life-long friends. Through writing I gained a new vision of what life could be.

The In The Rooms team believe that writing and other forms of creativity can be a game changer for those in recovery. We want to help you experience the benefits it brings.

We are looking for blogs between six hundred and one-thousand words in the addiction and mental health genre. A biography of one hundred words or less is required. The last date for submission is January 15th, 2021.

Blogs that the In The Rooms team feel are good enough will be published on the blogging section of the website. The winner of the competition will be announced on In The Rooms and all associated social media sites.

Please ensure that your submissions are original work and not published elsewhere.

You can send your submissions to blogging@intherooms.com.

Happy writing and good luck!
