STARsDay: A Global Movement of Transformation — Join Now!
Scars to STARs Day is a vital global movement. On May 16, 2025, individuals from across the globe will unite online to mark this transformational day, dedicated to survivors of toxic relationships and trauma. Hosted by the STAR Network Foundation, this inaugural international event is not just a summit—it’s a sanctuary of solidarity, healing, and empowerment.
Breaking the Silence Around Abuse and Trauma
Founded by renowned trauma recovery expert Dr. Jamie Huysman, Scars to STARs Day was created with one goal: to give voice to the unheard. Abuse, whether its emotional, psychological, or physical, often leaves more than visible wounds. It leaves individuals feeling isolated, powerless, and voiceless. This event aims to change that!
“Toxic relationships isolate us and convince us of our weakness. However, survival is testament to our strength,” says Dr. Jamie Huysman. “Scars to STARs Day exists to honor that strength and guide survivors toward their light!”
This is more than a message! It’s a mission. With abuse affecting millions globally, events like these serve as lifelines to hope and community.
A Gathering of Minds and Hearts
The summit will feature an inspiring lineup of speakers and thought leaders in mental health and trauma recovery, including:
- The Honorable Patrick J. Kennedy–Mental health policy pioneer and former U.S. Representative
- Marjorie Morrison, LMFT, LPCC–Mental health executive and advocate
- Richard Grannon–STAR International Ambassador
- Jennifer Libby, MSW, LCSW –Founder of Promly, focused on teen mental health and suicide prevention.
- Doug Tieman, Chairman of the Board, STAR Network
- Dr. Jamie Huysman, Founder and Executive Director of STAR Network
One of the highlights of the event is the STAR NeuroLeadership Award, presented to individuals who’ve made exceptional contributions in the mental health space. This year, Patrick Kennedy will be honored with a specially crafted kintsugi-style award—symbolizing healing through brokenness.
