ive lived the inability to abstain from alcohol; regardless of my fervent desire or need to do so; it felt like a loss of control. this led me into a self-imposed bondage, as alcohol became the only way i could cope with life and satisfy my will; it was a state of chaos. this awareness was a crucial first step toward recovery. while i may still face challenges related to powerlessness and unmanageability, i have discovered and accepted proactive, initiative-takin, and effective strategies to address my alcoholism. by embracin honesty, i can acknowledge both my powerlessness and unmanageability, which empowers me to redirect my self-will away from harmful behaviors and emotional, psychological, and spiritual turmoil. 1 day @ a time…
