i personally love this translation of tradition 4. a majority of my friends today are in recovery and we hang out and do things that may not include an organized meetin, but when we are together, we live and speak of our recovery. we are free to do as we wish, whether we are out for dinner, out for a concert, out for a sportin event, or out fishin, in some way, we discuss our recovery and we get to learn from one another. it is a freedom we get to live. we share our faith, hope, and charity. we get to share with one another the moments that make the perfect order, perfect harmony, perfect supply, perfect love, perfect honesty, and perfect obedience our individual HPs provide. when i do these little unorganized meetins with friends in recovery, i get to feel the freedom God has given me. i get to make the choice to grow my spirituality by interactin with others. i get to make the choice to experience recovery with like-minded people. with those choices i get to gain power in my life, over my life, and it brings me even more freedom. this freedom is also a choice i make. even when livin life away from my friends in recovery, facin the world around me, the times i have when i am with my friends in recovery still live freely within me. and here again, keepin that attitude of freedom when alone, is another choice i get to make. autonomy stays with me because i invite it into my life. when i take the time to love and respect the opinions and attitudes of the friends i have in recovery, i live the respect for self and others that recovery has taught me to. keepin the program of recovery i live simple, i get to live with the open-mindedness i have come to know over my time in recovery. surely i can make it hard by implyin rules that are so stringent i cause harm to myself and others, but i like to feel His will in my life. ive come to know that will as an inner happiness that doesnt come from the outside. rememberin the simple ideas of, “to each his/her own”, “love and tolerance”, i am able to live with happiness, autonomy, respect, courtesy, and peace within. all by acceptin the will of my HP. because ive taken the time to learn how it works, i get to experience why it works. 1 day @ a time...
