my daily reflections…

with the fellowship of recovery i find within it the effectiveness and unity i need for my own personal program of recovery. its like my early recovery, i needed help so i leaned on my sponsor. i copied him because my sponsor was a special person who had what i wanted. he had sobriety, he had inner happiness, he had common sense, he had peace, and serenity. he showed me how to get those things too. seldom there is a problem or complication were i cannot find another in the rooms who may have gone through somethin similar if my sponsor doesnt have experience in what ev im facin. not always does the first person i approach have the right solution for the dilemma i may be involved, but most generally, there is always someone who can help guide me toward a solution that works for me. both effectiveness and unity are had when i am able to get out of self and communicate an obstacle im facin. within anothers affirmation, and the confidence i gain to strike forward into my own adventure, i get to learn and weather the personal problems that arise in my life. it is like i am a member of a team, i get to rely on another in an area where i may not be too strong so they may help me along. and then, i get to reciprocate the same brotherly love and service when another may be in some sort of peril. the feelin and spirit of unity is found when i look for it. just as another may be a cool river in a thirsty land for me, i get to give, as they to me, to another as i freely give to all who ask my help. the effectiveness of recovery helps me to understand problems outside of myself so that a level of awareness from another can help me. sometimes the only thing i can do is accept whats goin on and no amount of mitigation i try will solve the problem. sometimes simple acceptance is the solution. with unity, i get to find out these answers. when i go into the fellowship to find solutions, i get to examine my response to problems, and get the eye of another who isnt affected directly by what im goin through. seldom do i improve by just goin through somethin alone, but when i have the guidance and direction from another, i get to persevere. through unity and effectiveness, the fellowship offers me what i need. i get to have purpose. i get to grow my spirituality cause its not based on logic, it is faith-driven. 1 day @ a time...
