MAT incorporates prescription medication and counseling to provide patients with a comprehensive approach to opioid addiction treatment. Anchorage CTC offers prescriptions for certain medications, including methadone, buprenorphine, and Suboxone. These medications can ease symptoms of withdrawal, which can also help prevent patients from using opioids again. Oftentimes, methadone clinics only offer one medication without the added benefits of counseling services.
