Lakewood Comprehensive Treatment Center (CTC) provides outpatient opioid addiction treatment for individuals age 18 and older. Located in Lakewood, Washington, our clinic utilizes medication-assisted treatment (MAT), which is an evidence-based form of care that combines the use of prescription medication with counseling. Years of research supports the effectiveness of MAT, and government agencies like the National Institute on Drug Abuse highly recommend it for treating opioid addictions. The medications we provide at our treatment center include methadone, buprenorphine, and Suboxone, which is different from other methadone clinics that are only able to prescribe one type of medication. The specific medication a person receives is based on the results of an assessment they complete prior to admission. These medications alleviate the symptoms of withdrawal, which can allow patients to focus on the therapeutic process. We also offer individual and group therapy so that patients have the opportunity to process their experiences, learn about the psychological aspects of addiction, and develop coping skills that can help prevent future relapse.
