Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT)

Medication-assisted treatment (MAT) is a highly effective treatment option for individuals who are struggling with addictions to opioids. San Diego Comprehensive Treatment Center (CTC), located in San Diego, California, offers MAT for adults age 18 and older who are addicted to heroin, morphine, and other opioids. MAT combines the use of prescription medications with counseling services, incorporating both psychological and medicinal aspects into treatment. Unlike some methadone clinics that only offer one type of medication, we can prescribe Suboxone, methadone, buprenorphine, and naltrexone, depending on a person’s specific needs. These medications ease the symptoms of withdrawal, making it easier for patients to engage in the therapeutic component of treatment. In individual therapy, patients meet one-on-one with a counselor and can learn more about the disease of addiction, discuss the triggers that can lead them to use opioids, and develop coping skills that can help them sustain sobriety once their time in treatment has come to an end.
