Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT)

Watsontown Comprehensive Treatment Center (CTC) provides outpatient medication-assisted treatment for adults who have addictions to opioids. Medication-assisted treatment (MAT) is a form of opioid addiction treatment that includes the use of prescription medications and counseling services. While some methadone clinics only offer one medication, we are able to prescribe methadone and Suboxone, depending on what will work best for the patient. These medications alleviate the distressing symptoms of withdrawal, which can ultimately help prevent people from returning to their opioid use. In addition to monitoring the effects of the medications, the professionals at our treatment center also provide individual and group therapy sessions, where patients can receive support from counselors and peers. These therapy sessions also offer patients the opportunity to learn and practice coping skills they can use long after their time in treatment has come to an end. This comprehensive approach to care can create a strong foundation for lasting recovery.
