when i first came into the rooms i had alienated everyone around me who ever meant anythin to me. i aint tryina say there werent people there fer me if i truly wanted to change, all im sayin is they had to cut any ties with me fer peace of mind themselves. and me feelin all butthurt coz they did the healthiest thing they could do fer themselves, decided id show them and cut them off. id told em repeatedly, id stay sober, and failed at every honest intention. recovery taught me how my alcoholism would never let me keep those promises unless i desperately wanted to stop drinkin. this last time comin into the rooms was the time i had been broken enough to work toward sobriety. in just one example, i spoke to my ma once early in my recovery, she told me she had never lost hope God would help me change. idk if it was her prayers God decided to answer or not, but what i do know is fer the last 8 yrs. of her life, she knew someone she had never known before. 1 day @ a time...
