as i endeavor to live attuned to the will of my HP, i must live a life that is in harmony with my fellows. this means that i work toward livin as spiritual life as possible. though the idea of the principles within recovery may be theorized and i may talk about em, they do not become an active part of my life unless i put them into practical use in my daily activities. if i want to keep the recovery ive been gifted over my time while practicin it, i gotta live it. livin it is the practicality of the theorization of the spiritual principles of recovery. bein useful and effective in my recovery is what it, recovery, teaches me to be, so why not be it? and isnt the spiritual principle of the 8th step brotherly love? as i have lived my recovery ive tried to put an emphasis on each spiritual principle and practice each one throughout the years accordin month. so, for me to not try to apply brotherly love in the 8th month of the year, wouldnt necessarily be livin a spiritual life. theorizin da hell outta stuff is all fine and dandy for those who may think they are spiritual gurus, but puttin the rubber to the road, keepin my head in the clouds with my HP while my feet are firmly planted on earth with my fellows is a way of life i want to investigate and do. it is within my grasp to show the gratitude for this breath, this moment, this life, this opportunity, whatever is in front of me right now. so, bein grateful for the gift of my time on this earth, livin the concept of a spiritual life isnt so far-fetched. sharin common goals with my trusted friends in recovery, even as we may have some differences, i can still work with em, and respect their opinions. for me, brotherly love isnt withholdin love as a weapon against another, it is holdin each other together with a critical common solution. its livin a spiritual life together, not causin another to suffer. sharin in the fellowship, to me, is more important than what separates, or divides, me from another. i get to strengthen our common solution by continuin to live as spiritual a life as possible. i aint gonna let insanity sabotage me with what i think i know about recovery, expectin it to keep me sober. but i am gonna do what helps keep me sober, continuin to give forgiveness, hope, and love, usin acceptance, courage, and wisdom. 1 day @ a time...
