as i live my recovery in the way that works best for me, i get to live to see each promise within the big book materialize within my life. and though i may not work or live my personal program of recovery as any other, the results i receive from the work put into it provide me the equivalent that all others who live a life of recovery receive too, a solution to my disease of alcoholism that works when the goin gets tough. what ive found is that bein a member of this fellowship gives me an ability to make mistakes within my practice of the spiritual principles and reach out to others within this thing we do when i cant find a solution. how unique a program that bonds an eclectic group of people together with different skill sets to come together and learn from one another. though i may ask for the experience of another, the way i use the strength and hope they share with me may not be the exact way they found their solution, the result i receive from their wisdom, hope, and strength provides me an answer to overcome joel. i dont have to pretend to be anythin other than what or who i am. this concept enables me to face things as they are and not run away. even as i will fail often, i dont have to make excuses, i can own my story and persevere by sharin it with another just as prescribed by the spiritual principle of service. this gives me the experience of seein recovery in action because listenin and sharin, back and forth with another, suffice to keep us both livin in harmony in our own separate lives. it grows a spirituality and forms relationships that i have never experienced in any other way of life ive lived. it helps to provide a balance for me that is shadowed by responsibility and strengthened by accountability and integrity. even far-out ideas can be useful to me if they inspire thinkin and prevent complacency. receivin the sound, time-tested, and proven principles as i listen and share with another, i get to keep my personal program of recovery continuously fresh, rewardin, and growin. its all about that continual personal inventory the perseverance of step 10 suggests. i may never graduate from any of the 12 steps ive learned, but the experience and wisdom cultivated will help me continue the practice of receivin the gifts my HP offers through this thing we do. 1 day @ a time...
