lookin back before my recovery id met few people i could really relate to. since my recovery began ive met many i can identify with and truly have good relationships with. i can only attribute this to the recovery ive learned to live. ive made changes in my life that have opened my horizons and enabled me to surrender control so i could accept people for who they are or want to be. with those in recovery, i feel ive developed a unique and special fondness for; i get them and they get me. as this mornins readin suggests, frequent contact with newcomers and those in recovery are the bright spots in my life. it is with them, i get to share in unity, service, and recovery. these legacies are gifted amongst one another in a spirit of happiness, joy, and freedom. i get to learn from them how to accept the many challenges life presents me with an honest, open-minded, willingness. i know i cannot wholly fail when they and my HP are with me. in sobriety, the world is a wonderful place. as ive spent time in the program, ive learned somethin unexpected and amazin: life is so full of twists and turns, its easier to follow along with trusted friends in recovery than to try to straighten them out. ive learned to let others make decisions and let go of the control i used to have which drove people away from me. when i stick with those who are exactly like me, i have a less likely chance of darin the burn from touchin a hot stove. i often sit back and am amazed at the splendor of life, the simple happenins that bring such joy, the nobility that is revealed in humankind, and the creative adventure and mystery of life. it is with the fellowship i get to ponder these things and work toward solutions that dont lead me astray. today as i learn, i get to be loved, and i get to love. this alcoholics answer is often given to me by my HP through those who i choose to be around. one of the biggest blessins recovery gives me is the friendship and fellowship with another alcoholic. 1 day @ a time...
