my daily reflections…

through a necessary prunin of my emotional condition when i came into the rooms, today i get to use the healthy, solid, proven solutions ive learned from this thing we do to combat my alcoholism and live a happy, joyous, and free lifestyle. i aint gotta live in the fear, anger, hate, or personal anguish i once so sickly relished in. those times are past me now and i only have to experience em if i choose that 1st drink. i dont eva wanna go back. so, today, havin lived through a lil emo turmoil in my early recovery, learnin how to use recoverys spiritual principles, i have gained tools to use so i dont have to suffer too badly. i must always remember that as my life changes as i grow, so do the ways in which i may hafta use the spiritual principles to live as gracefully as i can through those times. i didnt know how to get through life before my recovery began. all i knew was that if i forced my will, at least one person would be happy. with that mindset, i harmed others and continued to harm myself. it took me time to use what i was learnin through the steps for them to become a normal way of life. i aint talkin days or months, im talkin years. and to be honest with ya’ll, i still aint done with that learnin. what i know today is that through the psychological & physical pain im sober today. through the emotional & mental turmoil i know what peace of mind and serenity is today. recovery has taught me that life is 10 percent what happens to me and 90 percent how i react to it. i have choices to make each day on how im to manage what life presents. ive finally learned in my life not only to count sheep but also that i can count to ten. when im spirit guided, i get to feel Gods presence and power in my life and show it. i get to let my HPs and recoverys healin energy flow through my body. ive learned how to surrender so i can let healin energy flow through my body. 1 day @ a time...
