recovery has taught me that i cannot keep it unless i give it away. but mere talk is only, mere talk. it is the action of givin it away that shows others my want to live and practice my recovery. this doesnt mean ONLY in meetins do i do this, it means that if i want to continue to receive the benefits recovery has to offer i MUST live it in every moment of my day. im NO perfect player in the game of life nor am i in my recovery, but bein cognizant of my recovery, i try to do the next right action as much as i can. someone once told me to stop tryin and do it. tryin to me means to evaluate an effect or result; to endeavor or evaluate by experimentin with whatever it is i want to accomplish. certainly, attemptin to accomplish somethin to see its affect, is better than never at all, it is how i learn what works for me and what does not. where would i be today if i never tried anything. as hard as it may be sometimes to bite my tongue, it is somethin that is my HPs will. carryin the message often times, for me, requires that i recognize when to bite my tongue and when not to bite my tongue. practicin the spiritual principles of recovery requires that i have empathy, compassion, integrity, forgiveness, hope, and love. these are not part-time activities, if i am to live the changed person i have become, i must practice these ideals in ALL of my affairs. not to play the part of the martyr nor to be spat on and walked over, i can confidently live these principles successfully in my life. 1 day @ a time…
