experience has taught me that i do not know everythin. today i may have my opinions, but that is just exactly what they are, opinions. today i also hold beliefs; none are truly cast in stone as things do change without notice. i am willin to learn today. i do believe that my alcoholism caused problems for others and that they most certainly felt it. when i came into the rooms, i was welcomed with open arms, even though i felt unworthy. i was given empathy, understandin, unconditional forgiveness, unconditional love, and faithful hope, even before anybody knew whom i was or knew anythin about my story. i am sure there were those that judged me and to be honest, those that may have are not seen in the rooms today. today it is not my place to judge, it IS my place to have empathy, understandin, forgiveness, love, and offer hope. havin lived through the experience of my alcoholism and fully participatin in it, not to mention, lookin back and seein the devastation i caused to the ones who loved me the most, i understand today the importance and gravity of livin my life accordin to the 12 spiritual principles of this thing we do. growin and evolvin with my recovery i have gained an understandin of the person i became and the harms i did to others and myself. with this understandin i feel i may have an upper hand when workin with others. this doesnt make me akin to how they may feel or the specific situations they may have lived through to cause their alcoholism, but it does help me to have a tolerance and an empathetic compassion for the way they may be feelin within. with this perception of the spiritual reckonin it took fer me to move forward with my recovery, all i can do is share my experience, strength, and hope by sharin what it was like, what happened, and what it is like today, that the forgiveness, hope, and love they sense from it, will help them move away from their alcoholism. 1 day @ a time...
