for me, acceptin success or failure has taken a different meanin in my life as i have grown in recovery. though i may still feel the enlightenment of a job well done or the disappointin sting of failure, i do not need to react to either as i had in the past. today i am able to accept either as His will in my life. sure, i may need to look into either and see if there are things i could have done differently or better & learn from success & failure, what i dont need to do is go overboard with either. despair or pride in their many forms can be my downfall in recovery. my HP has shown me the meanin of courage & serenity and it is my responsibility to use them accordingly. i need to continue to live my life daily, and in doin so, i must accept what it brings humbly, whether it be success or failure. before i came into this thing we do i was talkin with my father-in-law. i had just received my 1st college degree, which i was very proud of, and quickly afterward received my 3rd drunk drivin charge. i asked him why the hell this happened to me. he told me, “joel, some people just cant handle success.” i learned from that experience through recovery, that i had the ability to sabotage my life. since bein in recovery i have thought back on the many times i have done just that, sabotaged my life. recovery has taught me through sound spiritual principles how i need to manage success or failure. what i have learned is that i have little control in either. true my actions can help promote either, but if i am truly livin as best as i can by my HPs will, then i am less likely to suffer. i have to use right daily action and be acceptin of what may come my way. i can say, since i have been in recovery i havent had any real, catastrophic thing happen to me that i couldnt use the spiritual principles of this thing we do to solve. im gonna keep doin what i have been doin, my HPs will, as best as i can. 1 day @ a time…
