when i came into this program i thought i knew what was wrong with me. i didnt understand how i had been affected by my alcoholism or want to do the things THEY wanted me to do. i had to break down some very strong self-will and i needed the courage this thing we do teaches to help me. it meant lookin within and i couldnt do it alone. i needed the help of a sponsor to guide me through the steps with God. learnin all this shit about myself was difficult to do, even as i thought i knew a majority of them before ever gettin into recovery. workin on fixin these things, character defects, and shortcomins, was what i never really wanted to do; i was full of fear over them. through the spiritual principles of this thing we do, i learned the spiritual tools needed to move forward and do a fearless moral inventory. even today i still have to dig deep and look at whats goin on within me. its still not always easy fer me, but i press forward usin the abilities i have learned, to do it. practicin the spiritual principles of prayer and meditation allows me to see these defects and work toward managin and mendin them. i am grateful today fer this gift from my HP, i have learned so much and continue only to get better as each day passes. 1 day @ a time…
