REMEMBERANCE

My one and only sister tech me that she came across the obituary of our mother who died suddenly back on July 10, 1997 while I was still an active alcoholic. Back then my sister and one brther had both disowned me because of my drinking. I have stated a many times during my recovery that I believe that mother had joined God and sat on his right hand to lean over to his ear and whisper "please save my one son." My mother was 72 years young on her passing as I was 47. Within a year at 48 years young I had begged God, who I didn't understand, to join my mother as my life was over. God had other plans and on 3-3-98 I had found AA and the suggested 12-step program of recovery. Today, in rememberance of my mother passing, I sit before you with going on 25 years of sobriety at age 72 years young.
