Chasing the News – stone cold sober Episode 9: The Dynamic Duo…is part of a monthly web series. It features high-profile sober individuals discussing how to “maintain sobriety in an era of uncertainty.” Guests include professionals such as clinicians, psychologists and addiction advocates. The creative field is also represented by best-selling authors, actors, artists, and musicians. Insight and inspiration are provided into methods people use to stay sober during Covid-19.  I’m sure you will agree, we all need to stay spiritually fulfilled and sane right now.

Chasing the News is the brainchild of Addiction/Recovery eBulletin publisher, Leonard Buschel. Leonard saw a need to help the recovery community who had lost in-person 12-step meetings.

On April 22nd we are excited to spend an hour with the founders of In The Rooms, Kenny Pomerance and Ron Tannebaum. In The Rooms began 13 years ago with a simple goal in mind. That goal is “to give recovering addicts a place to meet and socialize when they’re not in face-to-face meetings.”  Ron and Kenny are visionaries. What they started has now, due to the pandemic, come to be the main source of recovery meetings in the world.

With over 800,000 members worldwide, In The Rooms provides over 130 weekly meetings. It will continue to serve its community when the pandemic and Zoom 12-step meetings are a distant memory.

All are welcome. Tune in Thursday April 22nd at 1pm Pacific, 4pm Eastern. Chasing the News – Stone Cold Sober Episode 9: The Dynamic Duo. You are guaranteed stimulating conversation with Kenny and Ron and audience participation is welcome.

What a great ‘duo’ to have on your show! They are an amazing pair of gentlemen. I loved getting to hear some of their stories and learn more about them. I think In The Rooms is a tremendous boon to the resource base for people with addictions. I also think it is great for recovery-curious folks who can stay anonymous and bear witness to how people change and struggle and grow in recovery. Thank you!
