my daily reflections…

one of my first lessons when i came into the rooms was the relationship built with my sponsor. it was weird coz i wasnt sure if i was gonna be able to open up with him. i had never had any truly close relationships with others cept my wife, and at times that relationship wasnt the best. as i sat in the rooms i began to just listen to what others were sayin in the meetins i attended. it was suggested i just listened and try to pick out the dialog which closely matched my drinkin habit and days of doin my dirt. with the idea of just listenin, as my sponsor and i talked, he showed me how he closely followed the direction in this mornins daily. he spoke with me in the spirit of humility and weakness; he didnt try to tell me what i needed to do. he just told his story. although our experience was not the same, as he spoke, and i listened, i was able to sense that the emotions he had while tellin his story were the emotions i had had experience with while doin my dirt too. today, when i speak with others, i do as my sponsor did. it is attraction, not promotion. 1 day @ a time...
