self-pity can still hit me today. brought on by fear, anxiety, and self-centeredness, i begin to feel overwhelmed by guilt and remorse resultin from over-thinkin. when these moments arise, it is critical that i recall the lessons learned in my initial recovery and throughout my time in it, to utilize that experience and wisdom to successfully apply the principles of recovery. the serenity prayer reminds me that there are things i can control and others i cannot. it becomes my responsibility to write down these issues and discern what is within my reach and what is not. to understand these complexities, i need to surrender to my HP what i cannot control and seek the company of another person in recovery in order to discuss what i am experiencin. this gives me the opportunity to listen to their experiences and work towards solutions that, because of my own blockage, have become inaccessible. by applyin the necessary work based on the discoveries i have made, i am able to find the courage and strength to break the cycle of over-thinkin and stop tryin to impose my will on the world around me, thus allowin me to live with the freedom and confidence of peace of mind. these victories over myself turn into gifts of recovery, for which i am grateful to my HP for the wisdom gained. 1 day @ a time…
