Bringing Recovery to the World Together

In a world where trauma and addiction touch nearly every family, healing can feel like an uphill battle. But no one has to climb alone. STAR Network, Survivors of Toxic Abusive Relationships in proud partnership with In the Rooms, is on a mission to scale free, accessible, virtual Complex Trauma Recovery Groups across the globe—and we need you to help light the path forward.

Of course, our priority must always our own Recovery. As Gandhi said “We Must Be the Change We Seek in the World” but our Recovery needs to yield our self-love. Collective love will then follow, making this world less toxic for us and future generations.

Why “Pay It Forward” Matters in Recovery

In every recovery community and fellowship, there’s a powerful principle that brings hope full circle: Paying it forward. It’s not just a kind gesture—it’s a transformative act.

When someone struggling reaches out to support another, it does more than ease someone else’s burden. It breaks down isolation. It shifts the focus from inward pain to outward connection. It reminds each of us that we matter—not because of what we’ve survived, but because of the strength we can offer others.

Here’s what happens when we pay it forward:

  • We reconnect: Helping others rekindles a sense of purpose and belonging.
  • We grow: Acts of kindness amplify self-worth and emotional resilience.
  • We heal: Giving support actually supports our own long-term recovery.

Scaling Virtual Healing, Together

STAR Network and In the Rooms provide free virtual spaces where survivors of complex trauma can gather, share, and rebuild in safety—no matter where they are in the world.

But to expand access, we need YOU to pay your Recovery forward.

Every act of service—big or small—ripples outward. Whether you’ve walked the path of trauma yourself or simply want to be a beacon for others, your involvement can change lives in ways you might never fully see.

 This Is Your Invitation

If you’ve ever thought, “I wish I could help,”—you already can. This mission isn’t just for therapists or trauma experts. It’s for humans helping humans. STAR Network can use interns, Tar Mentors, Social Media aficionados, and even public relations people who identify with our mission and want to bring Recovery to a desperately toxic world in need.

Visit STAR Network’s page at www.starnetwork.org to find out how you can contribute your time, your voice, or your presence.  We welcome your input as we know it will take a Herculean effort to bring TAR Anon® worldwide

In healing others, we often find a piece of healing we didn’t even know we needed. Be that reason someone feels seen today. Let’s pay it forward, together.

STAR Network launched its program TAR Anon® on In the Rooms almost two years ago. Today we also continue to serve STARs everywhere regularly on Zoom at www.taranon.org. For our STARs on ITR, we will be moving our Monday 7 PM Meeting to 2 PM on Tuesdays.
