responsibility was not what i sought when i first entered recovery; my singular aim was to stop drinkin. yet sobriety alone proved insufficient. to live with integrity and joy, i had to embrace a more expansive callin; one that demanded accountability, growth, and Justice. step nine marked the beginnin of my education in responsibility: responsibility not only for myself but also toward others whom my actions had harmed. over time, responsibility has shifted from burden to second nature. still, moments arise when i feel tempted to neglect it. in those moments, i cannot escape the inner dissonance that follows; responsibility is no longer optional; it is integral to my bein. to be responsible in recovery requires steppin beyond self-centeredness into a spiritual orientation that fosters transformation from the inside out. today, Justice manifests as responsibility rightly ordered: i hold myself accountable for my actions and behaviors, accept the tasks necessary for growth, and seek to repair harm where possible. with the guidance of my HP and the principles of recovery, i can truly say: i am responsible. 1 day @ a time…
