in the rooms of recovery, i have witnessed many paths unfold. some have surrendered wholly, embracin sobriety with humility and resolve. others return again and again, still tethered to the drink, their struggle servin as a livin reminder that i am, and will always be, an alcoholic; sustained in freedom only by the grace of my HP and the discipline of this twelve-step way of life. step nine has taught me that Justice is not only the amendin of past wrongs, but the vigilant stewardship of my present conduct. i must harbor no illusion that i will one day be immune to alcohol; such delusion would be fatal. vigilance, then, becomes both shield and compass: the watchful examination of my own character and behaviors, lest negligence lead me back into bondage. in service to others i practice Justice, and in prayer i entrust both the still-sufferin and the recoverin to the care of a Power greater than ourselves, that they too may find serenity. 1 day @ a time…
