in the days of doin my dirt i conceived love as a purely material acquisition, a commodity to be extracted rather than a virtue to be enacted. this thing we do dismantled that delusion and, through Service and surrender to my HP, revealed that authentic love arises only when self-interest is relinquished. when i began to understand the twelfth step in the full breadth of its spiritual implication, it became evident to me that it summoned me toward a love without condition or remuneration; a love with no price tag, unburdened by the calculus of return. in learnin to accept my own imperfection, i discovered the moral agility required to extend compassion outward. love thus became an emancipation of the spirit, a disciplined willingness to give of self without negotiatin outcomes. 1 day @ a time…
