i understand and know who is to blame fer many, if not all, of the misfortunes in my life. i always thought it was em pickin on me, but learned through livin the steps, i played a vital part in much of the dismay in my life. i didnt only do it to myself, i did it to others too. i have learned through the steps how to identify my character defects and shortcomins when they arise so, i may, make amends to others and to myself. today i want to live as an example to others of what a good, healthy, enthusiastic, life in recovery can be. i want to live in such a manner that i exude compassion, peace, confidence, integrity, and empathy. i dont want to live as the person i once was back in the days of doin my dirt. livin a life of blame kept me from the responsibility of livin a true life among my peers. i was taught in my early recovery, through watchin those who had come in before me, how to live with balanced health, ownership, love, and honesty. they were the examples of good emotional, psychological, behavioral, and spiritual balance i needed to see, so today, i may carry their beneficial message of recovery. i didnt hear em blame others fer their behavior or thought, i heard em take responsibility fer their actions and live with the character assets i mentioned earlier. i became invited to emulate their behavior, not continue ridin the blame train or playin the blame game. its been my experience, when i live without blame i get to live in positive ways, offerin wonderful examples of behavior change. i reinforce my own changes, and possibly, change in others, every time i am thoughtful before i act. 1 day @ a time...
